Before Lower Blepharoplasty
As they age, the lower eyelid loses its skin tone and becomes loose. Wrinkles form on the lower eyelid. Oil bumps may become exposed. An inflated or bagged appearance occurs on the lower eyelid. For a younger look, lower blepharoplasty is recommended for these patients.
The problems of the patient are determined during the pre-operation consultation with the patient who is scheduled for lower blepharoplasty. The position of the lower eyelid, its axis, its tone, excess skin, the location of oil bags and dark colored rings, if any, are noted.
During Lower Blepharoplasty
Lower blepharoplasty can be planned under general or local anesthesia. If the problem is abundant or if a procedure such as upper blepharoplasty, mid-face lift, face lift, or face fat injection is to be performed in the same session, general anesthesia should be preferred. The surgery can be performed through an incision made at the bottom of the eyelashes or through the eyelid.
After Lower Blepharoplasty
Edema and bruising may occur after lower blepharoplasty. It will pass in 7-10 days. Cold procedure after surgery is recommended. After lower blepharoplasty, severe exercises for 3 weeks should be avoided.
Following the surgery, eye pomades or drops prescribed by your physician are used. Following the lower blepharoplasty, the wrinkles and bagging appearance on the lower eyelid are lost. Patients get a younger look.
