Before Jowl Liposuction
For the patients, for whom the jowl liposuction is planned, being in a stable and ideal weight for at least 6 months will positively affect the outcome of the surgery. During the examination conducted, the skin thickness, skin stretch, subcutaneous fat tissue thickness of the jowl are measured. For patients who have significant sagging other than fat deposition, a neck lift may be a better option.
During Jowl Liposuction
Liposuction can be performed under local or general anesthesia. In the surgery, liposuction is performed with thin cannulas. The surgery lasts 30 minutes. At the end of the surgery, a pressure dressing or a band similar to a neck collar may be preferred.
After Jowl Liposuction
Patients recover quickly after surgery. After 10 days, they can completely return to their daily lives. If a neck band is worn after the surgery, it should be worn for as long as the physician recommends. Thus, the adhesion of the skin to the underlying structures accelerates.
